Based in Colorado Springs, Mike Gergen serves as a Partner in the Architecture Engineering, and Construction practice. Building on his earlier recruiting experience in Construction, Mike brings a passion and track record of establishing and maintaining long-lasting and meaningful relationships by helping organizations maximize the effectiveness of their human resources. Mike’s leadership roles, management roles, military operations experience and training along with his military planning experience and training enable him to approach challenges from a myriad of perspectives and discover root causes and facilitate effective solutions.
Prior to rejoining Gaines International│Allen Austin, Mike’s experience included nearly five years as an executive recruiter with Allen Austin and the Lucas Group, a distinguished military career, and most recently, experience managing maintenance support for the United States Air Force Academy. Mike left after 9/11 to serve as Army officer in defense of the Nation. While in the military Mike served combat tours in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, provided disaster response support to New York during Super Storm Sandy, coordinated and provided support to the 2012 Democratic National Convention and the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree, supported national-level classified systems, served as a battalion commander, and was as an Aide-de-Camp for a commanding general.
Mike completed an undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa and a graduate degree in Human Resources Development from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas while serving as an active duty Army Officer.
Mike and his wife Pam live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where Pam teaches first grade. They have two children in college and enjoy spending time as a family.
