About the role:

The firm is organized around a highly collaborative leadership model, and at its core are values, culture and working style. The co-leadership model gives the firm the distinct advantage of having two competent people at the helm who, ideally, possess complementary strengths and weaknesses. Each co-leader takes a split-task approach to the leadership responsibilities of the organization. Spreading the responsibility offers support to co-leaders and is a catalyst in promoting team interaction, increased collaboration and coordination, as well as more innovative business and design solutions.

As Co-Office Director, the successful candidate will share the overall leadership of the Philadelphia office and be intimately involved in business development, strategic planning, operations and overall profitability of this office. We are seeking an entrepreneurial design professional who is active, well-known and respected within both the design and business community of Philadelphia, functioning as the co-ambassador of the firm in the local market.

As Co-Director of our Philadelphia office you will:

  • Co-Lead the overall direction, operations, finances and growth of the office while steering the daily course
  • Define, guide and develop new business; augment existing practice areas and identify those which will best serve the needs of the community
  • Oversee project execution and management
  • Push the boundaries with innovative design
  • Ideate strategic initiatives to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace
  • Provide guidance and support to Studio Directors; promote the mentorship of all employees, team-building and investing in the greatest asset – people
  • Collaborate with Regional and Firmwide leaders to promote the “One Firm-Firm” principle
  • Report to Southeast Region Leadership

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture; Master’s preferred
  • 20 plus years as an Architect/Designer
  • Track record of business development along with solid relationships among clients and those in the industry
  • Professional organizational leadership and contributor
  • Respected luminary in the Greater Philadelphia Community
  • Steward of award-winning projects
  • Existing roster of speaking and/or teaching engagements
