Attract (And Keep) Employees

Light bulbA little while back, I wrote a post about how to attract top talent. Well, after reading an article on ere.net, I have found that I am not the only one who is thinking of ways to be innovative ways to attract (and keep) employees.

The article is a couple of years old, but I found it incredibly interesting and I think many of the ideas can still be used today.

Anyway, according to the article, companies are incorporating a lot of things into the workplace that are helping to attract great talent. Here are a few examples:

  1. Games
  2. Contests
  3. Drinking on the job
  4. Throwing out resumes altogether (and watching them work instead).

Some of the stuff sounds really off the wall, but it’s incredibly creative and I can see how it would attract a candidate. I also think that stuff like this speaks volumes about the ambition of a company. If you’re willing to go the extra mile to attract a candidate, just imagine what you would do to keep them.

I am not saying that any companies need to run out and try any of these exact methods; every company has their own methods of finding and hiring employees. But, I do think it’s worth noting because it’s always good to know what you’re up against.

Be creative. Be bold. Do what you can to attract the talent you want.
